Without Much Fanfare, Manita Makes To TOP 10 In Miss Universe 2018 | She Is Proud To Be Nepal’s Daughter

Miss Nepal Universe 2018, Manita Devkota made it to TOP Ten in Miss Universe 2018.

Journey to Miss Universe ended for Manita Devkota, but she did make a history by becoming the first Miss Nepal Universe to reach the Top 10 in Miss Universe, which is an incredible achievement given the fact that it was only the second time that Nepal had participated in Miss Universe. Nagma Shrestha was the first one to represent Nepal in Miss Universe in 2017.

Unlike in Miss World there were no challenges or awards based on public voting.  Meanwhile, Shrinkhala Khatiwada who had represented Nepal in Miss World 2018 was able to win both the “Multimedia” and “Beauty With A Purpose Award.”  Thanks to public voting which made it possible for her to win such prestigious awards and gain immense popularity on Social Media.

Manita Devkota Didn’t Get Exposure like Shrinkhala Did.

Manita however didn’t let her fans down, and here is how:

• She was featured in the beginning of the video “Around the World with Miss Universe.“  The video shows the hometowns of the Contestants.

• 23 year old Manita Devkota raised the highest money in a Charity Auction in Miss Universe 2018 Nepal.

Auction gift to Miss Universe was a Buddhist Shadow Box.  The gift that won the auction was able to fetch $9600.

Nepal, as many of you know our auction gift to MU was a Buddhist Shadow box that Kayo helped me bring to reality”she wrote on her facebook post. Our gift was one of the most popular auction items at last night’s event. It was sold for 310,000 bhat ~ $9,600. I was shocked and internally jumping with joy. The Thai people love Nepal, it’s people and culture, and I was proud and honored to share our piece of heritage with them. I prey that the deep friendship between Thailand and Nepal continues to newer heights. ⁣⁣Manita Devkota

Miss Philippines Catriona Gray was crowned as 2018 Miss Universe.  Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green was the first runner-up and Miss Venezuela Sthefany Gutiérrez was the second runner-up.
