A small number of Rohingya Muslim refugees who fled Myanmar’s military crackdown has managed to reach Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. They have been coming to Nepal since 2012 escaping the violence in Myanmar.
But despite their claims for asylum and the reports of atrocities by Myanmar’s forces, Nepal does not recognise them as refugees. However they are not prosecuted by the government and is leaving in peace.
