Besides evergreen hits “Ma Maunta Ma”, Om Bikram Bista have given numerous hit songs including “Yaad gare Ti Din”, “Mero Yaad Aaucha”, “Aawaz Deu”, “Futeko Bhagya” and many more. Nepal’s legendary pop icon (Nepal’s King of POP), Mr. Om Bikram Bista is suffering from both Kidney failures. Mr. Bista who is in US (with his daughter and family), told Nepalisite.com that he is going through dialysis three times a week. He further told that he is in preparation to go to India for the transplant due to long wait and the high cost, if he decides to do in the USA. Total cost for the procedure is expected to be around $50K. He was very devastated when he learnt about the condition at first, but he feels very blessed to receive many support from his well wishers, friends and family from around the globe. He didn’t ask personally for the money needed, but his well wishers, family and friends have stepped in to help in raising the fund.
Other fund raising events for him have taken place in the past including in Chicago, Calgary (Canada), and New York.
Nepalese Association of Southeast America (NASeA) is organizing live Facebook fundraising program with live music through 5 Nepali online portals (websites) including Nepalisite.com on Jan 13, 9pm EST. On Behalf of NASeA organization, Mr. Bishal Bharati, a chairperson of NASeA’s Cultural Committee is leading this effort.
