Nepal government on Aug 18th made an announcement to shut down Kathmandu Valley again for a week amid spike in coronavirus cases.  The lockdown is to be in effect from midnight August 19 until midnight on Wednesday, August 26.

Kathmandu streets that are usually busy with life and traffic are almost empty.  All non-essential businesses including restaurants have been ordered to close.  Previously, the lockdown was first imposed in March and it was renewed several times.

As of this writing, according to COVID-19 Nepal, 592,418 have been tested with 31,117 confirmed cases, 18,350 recovery and 146 deaths.

All photos were taken by “Falgun Rana” on Saturday (Aug 22nd, 2020).  He used Olympus Pen-F camera  with Laowa 7.5mm f/2 lens to take these photos.
