On Sunday night, Nepal-born Arthur Gunn made it to top 7 in American Idol with his brilliant performance. He performed “Remember Me” from Disney movie “Coco”, and the judges felt the love.
All the judges were blown away by his performance. “That was one of your best performances I’ve ever seen,” Katy Perry said. “I even heard Dave Mathew’s style notes… You are Arthur Gunn through & through.”
Another Judge Luke Bryan said “Stick to your Guns.” Lionel Richie said “Own your voice. Own your sound. Thats who you are.”
There was a twist to American Idol season 19 where 10 finalists from season 18 were invited to compete for season 19th’s Top 10. Only 1 would move to Top 10. On April 19th, those contestants performed, after which the viewers got an opportunity to vote for their favorite contestants to move to Top 10.
Results for Top 10 were announced on May 2nd, 2021 where Arthur earned enough votes to secure his position in Top 10. He was the 1st Runner-up in season 18.
Top 10 then performed songs from Disney Movies. Fans were given an opportunity to vote for their favorite contestant during the show that was aired live coast-to-coast. Top 7 were revealed towards the end of the show, and Arthur Gunn once again was able to earn enough votes to move to Top 7.
American Idol will return on Mother’s Day on May 9th.

Arthur has been one of the favorite in this season 18 of American Idol. He started his Idol journey performing Bob Dylan, and CCR’s songs in audition. One of the judges, Luke Bryant, a country singer even asked Arthur to open for him in Detroit.
