Bhakta Raj Acharya Remembered: Tributes Pour In from PM, Celebrities, and Fans for the Nepali Music Icon

Bhakta Raj Acharya, a celebrated singer and composer known as Bhajan Siromani, breathed his last on Monday. He was 82. In the wake of the news, many notable figures and celebrities took to their social media to remember the singer and offered their condolences to his family.

Renowned for his contribution to the Nepali music industry and his deep, soulful voice, Acharya died on his way to Mediciti Hospital, Lalitpur, after a sudden decline in his health. He was being rushed to the hospital by his son Swaroop Raj Acharya and composer Hari Lamsal when he passed away.

Acharya’s music, spanning nearly 400 songs, including hits like “Mutu Jalirahechha” and “Jaha Chhan Buddhaka Ankha,” has left a lasting impact on the hearts of many. His unique blend of traditional Nepali music with spiritual hymns earned him the affectionate title of Bhajan Siromani.

Following the announcement of his passing, tributes have poured in from across the music industry, political leaders, and fans, all sharing their grief and commemorating his extraordinary contributions to Nepali music and culture.

Prachanda’s Pays Tribute

PM Prachanda took to social media to express his deep sadness over the loss of Bhakta Raj Acharya. In his message, the Prime Minister stated, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of senior singer and musician Bhakta Raj Acharya at the age of 82. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family and relatives while expressing high respect for his contribution in the field of Nepali music.”
