Nepal on Thursday banned a popular online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), after complaints from several parents and school officials regarding the negative impacts of the game on children.

“The Metropolitan Crime Division had filed a Public Interest Litigation at the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday, seeking permission to ban PUBG”, Kathmandu Post reported. In its litigation, the division said that the game was having a negative effect on the behaviour and study of children and youths. The district court gave permission to ban PUBG the same day.
“We also held discussions with psychiatrists before requesting the Kathmandu District Court for permission to ban the game,” Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police and chief of the Metropolitan Crime Division told Kathmandu Post.
Four Indian cities also banned PUBG according to International Business Times.
